Venue

The workshop will take place in Villard de Lans, a small town in the mountains above the city of Grenoble. The exact venue is the Best Western Grand Hôtel de Paris, situated at 124 Place Chabert, Villard De Lans (OpenStreetMap, Google Maps).

The participants will also be accommodated in this hotel (unless they choose otherwise when paying the participation fee). On the arrival day, the rooms will be available from 18:00. On the departure day, the rooms should be vacated by 10:00. You will be able to leave your luggage at the hotel reception. More information about the hotel can be found on its website.

Arrival instructions

Getting to Grenoble

The simplest way of getting to Grenoble is by train. If you are flying, check the flights ending in Lyon or Geneva airports. From there, there are frequent train and/or FlixBus connections to Grenoble train station ("Grenoble Gare", OpenStreetMap, Google Maps).

From the train station, you can reach the workshop venue by public transportation or via dedicated collective transportation for workshop participants. See the details below.

Going to Villard de Lans by public transportation

Take bus T64 or T65 from the Central bus station of Grenoble ("Gare Routière de Grenoble"), which is located next to the train station (OpenStreetMap, Google Maps). Take the bus to the stop "Villard de Lans − Gare Routière" (OpenStreetMap, Google Maps). The conference venue is walking distance from there. The bus trip takes one hour and costs 6.4 euro each way; the tickets can be bought at the ticket desk at the train station. The timetable for the arrival and departure dates is as follows:

The timetable for other dates can be seen on Mobilites-M website (select lines T64 and T65 under "cars Région -> Lignes régulières" in the left panel, and then the intended date and time of travelling).

For real-time navigation on these routes (and in general, by public transport in Grenoble and vicinity) you can use Moovit website and app (which is available in English and gets real-time updates on the transport location). However, you can only plan trips up to five days in the future. So, for planning your trip in July, use the timetables above.

Dedicated collective transportation

If you are interested in using collective transportation to and from Villard de Lans, please indicate so in the registration form. Once the registration is closed, we will analyze the demand and organize collective transportation appropriately.
